Anne Kim received her Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies/Urban History from the University of Pennsylvania, Cum Laude. As an undergrad, Anne had a special interest in elementary and middle school urban education, both participating in and helping create several mentoring programs partnering with Philadelphia public schools. After graduating, Anne worked for the U.S. Department of Labor Women's Bureau as a research consultant, where she drafted and assisted in the successful design and launch of women's programs targeting worker shortages, non-traditional employment for women, and financial literacy. While at the Department of Labor Anne handled Family and Medical Leave Act constituent referrals, which in part led to her interest in employment law. From Penn, Anne went on to study law at the University of Illinois College of law, from which she also graduated Cum Laude. While in law school, Anne participated in the Hispanic National Bar Association Moot Court Competition, which specifically drew her interest for the illegal search and seizure police misconduct at issue, and garnered numerous academic honors. In her short time at Maduff & Maduff, LLC, Anne has already put her formidable research skills to use on such complex issues as public policy wrongful discharge tort law, complex employment contract questions, and other employment related torts as well as navigating gray areas under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) regulations. Anne has handled breach of contract cases, cases under the FMLA, Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and even the Uniform Services Employment and Re-employment Rights Act (USERRA). Anne is licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of Illinois. She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. | ||
