During law school he clerked for two different Chicago law firms drafting legal pleadings, motions, and substantive briefs, including work on an important Fair Labor Standards Act Appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Walker’s clerkship experience included work on real estate, insurance, and of course employment matters which eventually brought him to Maduff & Maduff upon his graduation from law school. Walker holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music magna cum laude from the University of Denver and is an accomplished trombone performer. His awards on college were no less than those in law school including membership in Phi Beta Kappa, and the Golden Key Honor Society as well as being a Provost Scholar. Walker managed to work part time while attending college full time as well as interning with Corporate Real Estate Service Advisors, an international real estate advisory firm. In that position, Walker worked with clients across the United States and internationally. While his first love was music (in fact he was President of the University of Denver Pep Band), Walker’s interests and experience are far more wide ranging. Being a coffee and wine enthusiast, Walker had a past life in the wine importing industry where he gained not only an in depth understanding of the worlds vineyards and wine regions, but the problems in encountered in international marketing, trade, and shipping of perishables. Upon joining Maduff & Maduff, Walker jumped directly into several demanding cases. He has been the primary attorney handling an extremely complex Executive Severance Arbitration and has been very active in several large collective wage actions under the FLSA in addition to work on discrimination, Family and Medical Leave Act, and police misconduct cases. Like other attorneys at Maduff & Maduff, Walker has worked on cases in several other states including Ohio and Indiana. Walker holds licenses to practice before the Supreme Court of Illinois and all lower courts as well as the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. | ||
